Plan Options

Deductible & Premium Estimates

Allianz Visitors to Canada plans use a single flat deductible — unlike some competitors, there's no option to buy it down for a lower premium.

DeductibleEst. Monthly Premium*Premium SavingsBest For
$500Most Popular~$150–$250The standard deductible on every Allianz Visitors to Canada / Super Visa plan

* Estimates based on a 65-year-old applicant for a 12-month policy. Actual premiums vary by age, health history, and coverage amount.

Stability Clause

Pre-Existing Condition Coverage

The Standard plan automatically includes coverage for stable pre-existing medical conditions — no medical questionnaire or extra premium required. A condition is stable when there's been no new or changed treatment, no new symptoms, no deteriorating test results, no hospitalization, and no referral to a specialist or pending investigation. The lower-cost Essentials plan does not cover pre-existing conditions under any circumstances, regardless of stability.

Under Age 60 90 days stability

Pre-existing conditions must be stable for 90 consecutive days before the policy effective date for applicants under age 60.

Ages 60 – 89 180 days stability

For applicants aged 60 to 89, conditions must be stable for 180 consecutive days before the policy effective date.

What counts as "stable"

  • No new or worsening symptoms
  • No new diagnosis or change in existing diagnosis
  • No new prescriptions or change in medication dosage
  • No hospitalization or referral to a specialist
  • No tests ordered or results outstanding

Important Note

Conditions not meeting the stability requirement are excluded. A licensed advisor can help confirm eligibility before you purchase.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Allianz Visitors to Canada plans are available at $25,000, $50,000, $100,000, and $500,000. IRCC requires a minimum of $100,000 in coverage for Super Visa eligibility.
On the Standard plan, yes — automatically and with no medical questionnaire. A condition is covered if it has been stable for 90 days before the policy start date for applicants under 60, or 180 days for applicants aged 60 to 89 — meaning no new symptoms, treatment changes, hospitalizations, or specialist referrals in that window. The lower-cost Essentials plan excludes pre-existing conditions entirely, regardless of stability.
The Standard plan covers stable pre-existing conditions, accidental dental, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, emergency return home for you and a family member, and out-of-pocket expenses during a medical delay — none of which are included on Essentials. Essentials also has lower caps on prescription drugs ($500 vs. $1,000), private duty nursing ($5,000 vs. $10,000), and return of remains ($7,500 vs. $10,000), and combines all healthcare practitioner visits (chiropractor, physiotherapist, etc.) into a single $1,000 cap rather than $500 per profession. Both plans include the same core emergency hospital, medical, and transportation coverage.
Allianz Visitors to Canada plans use a flat $500 deductible. Unlike some competitors, there isn't a menu of deductible levels to choose from to lower your premium further.
Allianz Visitors to Canada and Super Visa plans are available for applicants from 15 days old up to age 89.
No. The full premium is due at the time of purchase — there's no monthly installment option. You do get a 10-day right-to-examine period, allowing a full refund if you cancel before the policy is used and no claims have been filed.
Yes. If your Super Visa application is refused, Allianz will refund the premium with proof of refusal, provided no claims have been made. Partial, prorated refunds are also available if you return home early or become covered under a provincial health plan, as long as the refund exceeds the $20 minimum and no claim has been paid.
Yes. All Allianz Visitors to Canada plans include free 24/7 virtual doctor consultations, giving your parents or grandparents access to medical advice any time.
Allianz's policy wording does not carve out a separate exclusion for epidemic or pandemic-related illness. A sudden, unforeseen sickness — including COVID-19 — is covered the same as any other emergency sickness, subject to the policy's standard terms, conditions, and exclusions.
