Stability Clause
Pre-Existing Condition Coverage
Pre-existing condition coverage is only available on the Premier plan, and the rules change with age. The Essential plan never covers pre-existing conditions, regardless of stability.
Premier Plan — Age 69 & Under — 180 days stability
Stable pre-existing conditions of any type are covered if stable for 180 consecutive days before the policy effective date.
Premier Plan — Ages 70 – 79 — 180 days stability
Stable conditions are covered after 180 days, except cardiac, neurological, and respiratory conditions, which are excluded regardless of stability.
Premier Plan — Ages 80 – 85 — No stability
Pre-existing condition coverage is not available at any stability period for applicants 80 and older.
What counts as "stable"
- No new or worsening symptoms
- No new diagnosis or change in existing diagnosis
- No new prescriptions or change in medication dosage
- No hospitalization or referral to a specialist
- No tests ordered or results outstanding
Important Note
Conditions not meeting the stability requirement are excluded. A licensed advisor can help confirm eligibility before you purchase.
